A spring wedding?

I'm posting a few wedding flower pics that I finished up with yesterday. I'm sure the bride didn't imagine it would snow at the end of April here in beautiful SD! Ahhh yes, gotta love it.

The flowers were fun to do. Bride's bouquet had roses, calla lilies, hydrangeas, tulips and seeded eucalyptus in it. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of three calla lilies tied together. Simple but elegant.

Congrats Sara and Aaron. Thanks for allowing me to do your flowers!

Happy Earth Day!

Today is Earth Day! Go plant a tree or make a promise that you will do your part to ensure our planet will be a better place for future generations. We all need to do our part and realize that our natural resources will not be here forever unless we take care of them!

This quote has recently hit home with me:
"Treat the earth well: it was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children. We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors, we borrow it from our Children."

Upcoming wedding?

If you are getting married late this summer or fall contact me. I do have some openings. I love doing weddings any time of the year because every season provides so many neat opportunities/unique elements that can be incorporated into your flowers and decor.

I think this is SOOOOOOO cool. It's called "wedding graffiti" and it's vinyl lettering that you can put on the walls (or various surfaces), but it looks like it's been painted on. What a neat idea for church doors, dance floors, and boring old walls that you want to jazz up. The great thing about it is that you can remove it really easily and it won't damage your walls or surface.

Here's the website for more pics and examples.

Amazing!

So my fascination with Etsy continues.....I found these amazingly realistic flowers made out of clay. Yes, you read right....soft clay! I guess they were featured on Martha Stewart's show recently. I missed that one, but I'd love to meet the artist that crafts these beautiful flowers.

So I decided to switch to a new blog format. My old 'wordpress" blog wasn't the most user friendly (or so I'm telling myself) so I decided to give this new blog a whirl. I'm hoping to post more often on here.

Right now I'm SOOOOOOO in the mood for spring. I'm loving all the new fabrics from Amy Butler and all the fabulously designed things over on Etsy. If you aren't familiar with Amy Butler check out her website at http://www.amybutlerdesign.com/

Love it!
